Dominion Faith Center is a federal 501(c)3 recognized organization ID: (85-0686688)
Dominion Faith Center provides supportive outreach services to the Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC), low-income families, and African immigrants and refugees. We connect African immigrants and refugees to critical services, help Africans develop as leaders, and organize our communities on the issues that matter.
We currently are in a community partnership with the following: Mission Africa; Roni LifeWorks, Peirce County Department of Health, and African Community Alliance.
We served the following communities: King County, Pierce County, Central District, Pioneer Square, Kent, and Rainer Beach.
Current Partner Project:
Roni LifeWorks Food deliveries:
Meal Programs
Roni LifeWorks provides weekly food donations to the Dominion Faith Center (DFC) community. DFC in turn delivers food to their underserved community and the African community. All of the food donations are provided by NorthWest Harvest and Unity.
From sit-down meals to food drop off at homeless shelters to provide nutritious food and valuable human interaction, to mobile meals that deliver much-needed sustenance to those who cannot reach a food distribution center, we ensure that the most vulnerable members of society do not go hungry.
Mission Africa on Health Advocacy Project:
Mission of Africa collaborated with (DFC) on health advocacy which encompasses direct service to the individual or family as well as activities that promote health and access to health care in communities and the larger public. We look at how public policies play a vital role in creating conditions that improve health and address the social determinants of health.
We advocate for health equity such as the following:
It ensures that the health impact of all policies, even those traditionally viewed outside of health care, is viewed as important for advancing health equity.
Examples include:
- Developing and implementing policies that have created new standards to protect indoor air quality in housing near congested roads;
- Improved access to parks;
- Increased access to nutritious food options;
- Safe and affordable housing for low-income residents; and
- Street designs that promote safe walking, cycling, and transit access.
